The Santa Maria Civic Theatre is finding ways to keep the Halloween spirit alive with its "Drive-up Theatre: Spooktacular."

The theater invited community members to drive up to the theater and each car would receive a program with the locations for five different performances around the community.

Each mini show lasted a few minutes and then guests could drive to their next location.

The president of the Civic Theater Board, Sally Buchanan, says it's important to support local theaters during the pandemic.

"Support local theaters. A lot of artists are struggling right now because we are out of work, so just do what you can to support the arts like you would any other local restaurant or shop. Let me in and let me entertain you," Buchanan said.

Buchanan says they're planning another drive-up theatre for the Christmas season.
