Santa Maria development project passes in City Council for second reading

The city of Santa Maria discussed a major development at the Sept. 15 City Council meeting that is 30 years in the making.

The Blosser-Southeast Plan passed unanimously by the City Council to introduce the ordinance and continue to a future meeting for reading and adoption.

The plan includes about 1,000 housing units, along with a new junior high school, soccer field and bike path.

Some amendments were also added in regard to the traffic.
