Wednesday is the first day some places in Santa Barbara County are allowed to re-open indoor operations and while there are still some limitations, many people are excited.

Crunch Fitness in the Santa Maria Town Center Mall is back open under the state’s new guidelines.

Owner Art Quezada says members must wear face coverings, keep space between themselves and others and bring their own towels.

The business has a person assigned to cleaning the equipment regularly, adding there are 12 different disinfecting stations.

"I’m excited to open up, ready to service our community and our members,” Quezada said.

Santa Barbara County moved into the red or lower COVID-19 tier on Tuesday, allowing for additional re-openings.

Gym capacity cannot exceed 10 percent. Under the next tier, capacity at gyms can increase to 25 percent.
