A Santa Maria attorney is working to help veterans on the Central Coast.

This is the 19th year Michael Clayton has organized a BBQ for veterans on Veterans Day.

Veterans eat for free at the BBQ, and a plate for any other guest will cost $5.

Clayton says last year he served around 2,500 people, and raised $3,000 for Vietnam and Korean War veterans.

This year, all donations will go to the Band of Brothers Softball League.

"Those guys put their life on the line and gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we can have what we have and what we're enjoying today," Clayton said. "You gotta stop, take pause and you gotta say thank you very much to the veterans."

The BBQ takes place on Monday, Nov. 11 from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. It's located at 313 West Tunnell St. in Santa Maria.
