Officers with the Santa Maria Police Department arrested a driver for DUI after the driver crashed into a light pole on South Depot Street and Sonya Lane Sunday morning.
The police department tweeted that the two occupants of the vehicle ran from the scene after 9 a.m.
Officers found the two occupants on foot at South Thornburg Street and Lolita Lane, according to the tweet.
Officers on scene of a hit & run traffic collision at Depot and Sonia. Suspect vehicle took out a light pole and the two occupants fled the scene.
