SANTA MARIA, Calif. — Santa Maria Police say a man is in custody after leading officers on a motorcycle pursuit.
Officers say at around 8:22 p.m. Saturday, they attempted to stop 35 year old John Mayberry on his motorcycle for a traffic violation.
Mayberry then led officers on a pursuit at high speeds before abandoning the motorcycle behind the Buckboard Motel, according to police.
Police say he then ran into a motel room where he was arrested.
Mayberry was booked into the Santa Barbara County jail on a preexisting felony warrant of out San Luis Obispo County and felony evading arrest, according to police.
