Santa Maria police investigating suspected stabbing, one person airlifted with serious injuries

SANTA MARIA, Calif. — Santa Maria police are investigating a stabbing near the corner of West Alvin Avenue and the 800 block of North Broadway.

Police say calls came in around 9:10 p.m. Sunday night.

The SMPD Watch Commander on-duty says when officers arrived on scene they found a male victim with injuries consistent with stab wounds in the parking lot of a nearby business.

The Santa Maria Fire Department says one patient was airlifted to Cottage Hospital by CalStar with serious injuries.

Police believe there are two suspects at this time.

They are asking for people to avoid the area as police are investigating.
