The Santa Maria Town Center Mall is working on a plan to re-open its doors to the public.

The indoor mall in Santa Maria has been closed since the start of the shelter-at-home order.

Only businesses with doors to the outside, like Gina’s Piece of Cake, Sake Sushi, Red Robin and Macy’s have been able to offer curbside pickup.

However, people are now able to purchase from other businesses inside the mall, like Hibbett Sports, Kay Jewelers, Trendsetter’s Fashion and World 1-1, and pick up their purchases at a kiosk inside.

Mall officials say the process to re-open is more involved and a slower process than other retail stores outside a mall setting.

A re-opening date has not yet been announced.
