Santa Claus is coming to downtown San Luis Obispo the day after Thanksgiving.

Non-profit organization Downtown SLO is opening Santa's House in Mission Plaza Friday at 10 a.m., giving children the chance to talk to the big man in red about their Christmas wishlists.

Kids who visit Santa will receive an activity book, toy and candy cane. Photos with Santa are also available for purchase.

Santa's House will be open until Christmas Eve, usually from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. but hours vary so check Downtown SLO's calendar online. Santa has to make a few trips to the North Pole during December, understandably.

In addition to Santa's House, the Classic Carousel returns to Mission Plaza for the holiday season.

The carousel will be open Friday through December 26. Rides cost $3 per person or buy a package of five rides for $10.

The carousel hours are dependent on weather and it will not run during rainy conditions.
