UPDATE (Wed., April 5) - Santa Barbara County Sheriff's officials say they are receiving similar reports of school threats in the Carpinteria area but do not consider it to be a valid threat.
Officials say deputies are investigating and will increase presence around Carpinteria school campuses.

(Tues., April 4, 2023) - Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputies say they are aware of a threat regarding Cabrillo High School Wednesday.
Deputies say the photo associated with the threat appears to be the same that has circulated in other states and there are no ties to Cabrillo High School or Santa Barbara County.
Out of an abundance of caution, there will be an increased law enforcement presence at local schools Wednesday.
