ORIGINAL STORY: Some people in Vandenberg Village have been told to shelter in place following a vehicle pursuit Friday afternoon.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office says Lompoc police were involved in the pursuit but lost sight of the vehicle.

Sheriff’s deputies reportedly found the vehicle in the village and told residents in the area of Constellation Road and Capella Street to shelter in place and call 911 if the suspect, who is believed to be armed and dangerous, was seen.

The sheriff’s office, a K9 and helicopter were assisting Lompoc police with the search for the suspect. A home along sunbeam Road was being searched as of 3:45 p.m. and a white SUV believed to be the vehicle involved was out front with the doors open and at least one window broken.

Police tell KSBY News the suspect is the same person believed to be involved in a shooting in the city Thursday night. No one was injured.

A description of the suspect has not been provided to KSBY News by authorities.

This is a developing story and will be updated as information becomes available
