A Shandon woman was killed in a suspected DUI crash on Highway 101 near King City this week.
It happened shortly before 7:15 p.m. Tuesday in the southbound lanes north of Alvarado Road.
The California Highway Patrol says a driver, identified as Balthazar Donato, 27, of Greenfield was heading northbound in the southbound lanes of the highway and suspected to be under the influence when the driver’s side of his vehicle crashed into the driver’s side of an oncoming vehicle.
Donato's vehicle rolled before stopping in the median of the highway.
The other vehicle came to rest on an embankment.
The driver, identified as Sabrina Lecce, 23, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Her passenger, also 23 from Shandon, sustained what CHP described as minor injuries.
Donato was arrested on suspicion of DUI and sustained moderate injuries, according to CHP.
