UPDATE: Santa Barbara County Sheriff's detectives are investigating a shooting that left one man seriously injured.
According to officials, the shooting occurred at around 10:53 p.m. on Friday.
When deputies arrived, they found an adult male who was shot in the upper torso.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, but his status remains unclear.
Deputies were unable to immediately locate the suspect and they remain outstanding.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

It reportedly happened in the 6500 block of Del Playa.
Sheriff's officials sent a tweet at about 12:30 a.m. on Saturday asking people to avoid the area while deputies investigated.
One person was reportedly injured in the shooting and taken to a local hospital. Their condition was unknown.
