UPDATE (5:54 p.m.) - As of 5:43 p.m., the sheriff's office reported that the shelter in place order had been lifted.

(4:31 p.m.) - The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office asked the public to avoid the area of Patterson Ave. and Cathedral Oaks Rd. in Santa Barbara while deputies searched for suspects who reportedly fled from a stolen vehicle.
A shelter in place order was issued for Ribera Rd., North Patterson, La Buena Tierra, and Avenida Pequena during the operation.
As of 4:20 p.m., sheriff's officials said two suspects were in custody. A total of four people may have been involved.
