The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office says a man is in custody after barricading himself inside an apartment in Goleta.
The Encina Meadows apartment complex in the 5700 block of Encina Rd. was evacuated and other residents in the neighborhood were told to shelter in place during the incident.
Sheriff's officials say neighbors called law enforcement Monday evening to report that the man was causing a scene and trashing the apartment.
When authorities arrived, he reportedly threatened his neighbors and law enforcement and also claimed to have a bomb.
Sheriff's officials say SWAT and negotiators were called to respond.
He was reportedly taken into custody shortly after 6:30 p.m.
