UPDATE (8:02 a.m.) - The sheriff's office says authorities on scene determined the shots heard near Creston Elementary School were from a hunter in the area.
Officials say there is no threat to the public, adding the situation has been resolved.
ORIGINAL STORY: Authorities are responding to a report of possible shots heard near Creston Elementary.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office says an employee at the school on the 5100 block of O'Donovan Road reported hearing shots fired Tuesday morning.
The sheriff’s office along with other law enforcement agencies were en route to the school as of 7:10 a.m. “to make sure the scene is safe.”
At 7:44 a.m., the sheriff's office said it appeared the shots were from a hunter in the area but the scene was still being assessed.
