One person was injured in a shooting in Santa Maria on Friday, and now police are searching for a person of interest.
Police said a victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound in the 500 block of East El Camino around 9 a.m. Friday.
An investigation following the shooting led officers to a nearby residence in the 500 block of East El Camino, police said. Authorities surrounded the residence for several hours before making entry.
The suspect was not located inside.

Police have identified the person of interest as 36-year-old Severiano Leon Flores of Santa Maria. He's wanted on outstanding warrants and is thought to be potentially armed.

The gunshot victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, police said. Their status is not known.
