Several wineries in the Lompoc area hosted an event Friday to kick off the small business Saturday events.
The annual Sip Lompoc event happens twice a year, and for the second time in 2019 wine tasting took place on Friday.
There are 11 wineries that participate in the event, and a portion of the sales made on Friday will be for the Boys and Girls Club, a nonprofit organization that supports youth and advocates against child trafficking.
"We do it for fundraising," says Silvia Aguilera, chairwoman of Hispanic Business Committee Lompoc, "for the children, the community, anybody that needs help with scholarships whether it be for school or for sports programs."
There are 30 Lompoc Businesses expected to take part in small business Saturday.
