An 8th grader from San Luis Obispo was recently awarded a $5,000 scholarship from the Giants.
Every year, the Giants Community Fund inducts ten Junior Giants into the Harmon & Sue Burns Scholarship Program and they're honored during a home-plate ceremony at AT&T Park.
Garrett Juretic received his certificate at a game in San Francisco this past weekend.
Garrett's mom says he has been a longtime participant in the Junior Giants program and currently attends Laguna Middle School.
He will receive the $5,000 upon graduation from high school.
