The San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce brought in leading legislative strategies and economic advisors to San Luis Obispo for the annual luncheon.
There were a variety of speakers who attended the event, including people who have held positions everywhere from Facebook to Governor Brown's office.
The event allowed community members to hear from political movers who spoke about key issues ranging from the state housing crisis, immigration, state economics, Governor Newsom's new administration, and a run up to the 2020 election.
"There is going to be a lot of challenges," says President and CEO of SLO Chamber of Commerce Jim Dantona, "There is a concern about where the economy is going forward and what are the new bills that are on the governor's desk. People are asking if those are going to be signed and how are they going to impact local businesses."
This year's panelists included: Dane Hutchings, a legislative advocate specializing in pension reform as well as labor and unemployment policy; Keely Bosler, the Director of the California Department of Finance and the go to person for the Governor's budgetary questions; and Aneesh Raman, a senior advisor at the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development who previously worked with Facebook, the Obama administration and CNN.
