SLO City Council to call for general election November 3

The San Luis Obispo City Council is scheduled to take the first step in the Council election process by discussing and adopting a resolution to hold a General Municipal Election on November 3, 2020.

The resolution outlines three main actions:

  • Call for a General Municipal Election of two City Council positions and Mayor
  • Set regulations for candidate statements
  • Request to consolidate the election with San Luis Obispo County run General Election

If the resolution passes, registered voters within the city of San Luis Obispo wishing to run for the above listed positions may be issued nomination papers beginning July 13.
