San Luis Obispo County Health Officer Dr. Penny Borenstein has approved the reopening of several additional business sectors after state health officials released new guidance last Friday.

Businesses that will be allowed to reopen on Friday, June 12, include bars, wineries, movie theaters, fitness facilities, zoos, tribal casinos, day camps, entertainment production, professional sports without live audiences, campgrounds, hotels, short-term rentals, and museums.

Organized sports that involve physical contact are still not allowed by the state, along with playgrounds, water parks, saunas, and spas. The county will also not allow indoor group fitness classes at this time but plans to reevaluate that decision in three weeks.

County officials say businesses planning to reopen must review the state's guidance, conduct a risk assessment, and complete a self-certification form. That information is available at emergencyslo.org/reopening.
