UPDATE: Missing Arroyo Grande man found safe

UPDATE (12:13 p.m., Jan. 4, 2021) - The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office reports that Andrew Romero, who was reported missing on January 3, was safely located by the Ventura Police Department.

(Jan. 3, 2021) - San Luis Obispo County sheriff's deputies are searching for a missing man considered to be at risk Sunday.

According to a news release from the sheriff's office, on Sunday morning officials received a report of a 23-year-old missing person out of rural Arroyo Grande named Andrew Daniel Romero.

Authorities describe Romero as a Hispanic adult man who may be having a mental health crisis.

Deputies said Romero was last seen at about 4 p.m. Saturday wearing gray sweatpants and a light blue hoodie. Romero did not have his phone, wallet or shoes on him.

Romero was last seen driving a black, four-door 2009 Ford Focus with the license plate 6GDP283 and having faded paint and visible bodywork on the rear bumper, according to deputies.

He may have been traveling to a beach in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara or Monterey County, according to reports.

Officials said Romero stood at 5'3" tall, 150 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair.
