An illegal marijuana grow was being eradicated Friday morning by the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office.

The illegal crop was being grown off Hi Mountain Road in eastern San Luis Obispo County, according to the Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Tony Cipolla.

Cipolla said the site was in a remote area about 10 miles east of Lopez Lake near the Cuesta Ridge.

A helicopter is being used to assist in the eradication effort, Cipolla said.

No information about the crop's size was provided and it's unclear how the Sheriff's Office learned of the grow.
