San Luis Obispo County is preparing to open a local center to help residents with 2020 Census questionnaires.
The Census Questionnaire Assistance Center will be open from March 12 through April 25 at the Paso Robles City Library, located at 3201 Spring Street. Hours will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursdays, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays, and 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
The assistance center will have Census information available in English and Spanish and workers will be available to help people complete their Census questionnaires. All San Luis Obispo County residents are welcome to visit the center.
County officials say it's important that Census questionnaires are filled out and returned in order to get an accurate count of the people living here. The county receives federal funding for programs like public health, child and family services, and emergency management grants based on Census information.
Anyone unable to visit the Census Questionnaire Assistance Center in person may call (805) 227-7220 for assistance.
