A local candy shop is treating veterans and active service members to free chocolates.
SLO Sweets is offering free chocolate treats to active duty service members and veterans in the community this Memorial Day Weekend as a way to honor their bravery.
To get the sweet treat, all you have to do is show your military I.D. as proof during their normal business hours from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The store started giving out treats on Friday and will continue Monday.
"We wanted to show a small gesture of our appreciation for service men and women past and present and just celebrate the day with them," said miranda battenburg, owner of slo sweets.
SLO Sweets has locations in Paso Robles and downtown San Luis Obispo.
