SLO Symphony celebrates 50th anniversary of Woodstock

The San Luis Obispo Symphony's 'Pops by the Sea' performed at Avila Beach Golf Resort Saturday night for "Woodstock on the West Coast."

Pops by the Sea returned for the first time since it was last held in 2014. Music Director Andrew Sewell led the symphony performance.

The symphony featured a guest performance by Jeans 'n Classics.

The outdoor concert highlighted classic rock music like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and The Who to celebrate the 5oth anniversary of Woodstock.

The San Luis Obispo Symphony has been performing for nearly 60 years. The symphony offers music education programs throughout the year to teach kids about music.

The concert starts at 4 p.m. and tickets start at $25. Kids under 12 get free admission with a paying adult.
