The San Luis Obispo Police Department is hosting a couple of peace talks, 2-hour discussions focusing on police protocol for use of force, police body cameras and mental health resources.

PEACE (Policing Education And Community Engagement) educates the public about what the police department does, why they do it and how the community can share responsibility for their safety and success.

Community members can ask questions to different police professionals.

The first peace talk about use of force starts Wednesday at 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The second talk, called "Understanding Your Rights: The 4th Amendment", is Wednesday, March 25 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 pm.

Both meetings are at French Hospital in the Copeland Health Education Pavilion on the 3rd floor.

The talks are limited to the first 120 people.
