Small business owners near the Oceano Dunes SVRA say they're already seeing an influx of customers just two days after the dunes reopened.

The gates to the Oceano Dunes SVRA opened Friday morning after being closed since March due to the pandemic and protection of nesting Western snowy plovers.

The site is currently in its first phase of a three-phased California State Parks reopening plan.

Employees at small businesses like "Yo, Banana Boy!" in Pismo Beach say they're happy the wait to reopen the dunes is over.

"We're selling our 'Save Our Dunes' flags, we also have our stickers and the proceeds go towards the legal battle in Sacramento. We also accept donations. Everything goes towards keeping the dunes open," said Jonathan Camarillo, a sales representative at "Yo, Banana Boy!".

California State Parks says the Oceano Dunes SVRA sees more than 2.2 million visitors every year when it's normally open.
