A small earthquake was reported near San Miguel Island Friday morning.
According to USGS, the 2.5 quake hit around 3 a.m.
San Miguel Island is part of the Channel Islands located off the Santa Barbara County coast.
USGS says there are roughly 900,000 earthquakes of a magnitude 2.5 or less recorded every year.
