Law enforcement has arrested a man in connection with an assault in Solvang.
On Saturday, March 21st around 10 p.m, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred in the 400-block of Fifth Street.
The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to officials. His identity is not being released.
Deputies arrested 25-year-old Elias Murcia-Aplicano of Solvang, and booked him at the Santa Barbara County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.
Murcia-Aplicano is being held on $30,000 bail.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office canvased the area for additional witnesses and are continuing to investigate.
