Solvang is ringing in the New Year alongside Denmark.
A European-style countdown took place ahead of 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Solvang Park.
The family-friendly Copenhagen Countdown event includes festive foods, a beer, wine and spirits garden and music between 2 and 4 p.m. from 80s tribute band the Molly Ringwald Project.
“Well, as you know, Solvang is a Danish community. It is the Denmark of the United States, so everything, we are closely related to Copenhagen and Denmark. Everything we do is with the Danish tradition and we have been for more than 50 years," said Terri Simmons, marketing and events assistant for Solvang Parks and Rec.
