Santa Maria man arrested for assault with tweezers Friday morning

Santa Maria police responded to an assault Friday morning.

In a tweet, the department said officers investigated the incident that occurred on the 400 block of West Morrison shortly after 7 a.m.

In a follow up call, police said the suspect is Sean Shirley, 35, of Santa Maria.

According to police, he stabbed a male victim with tweezers, causing lacerations.

How the assault unfolded is still under investigation.

He was arrested and will be booked in Santa Barbara.

Santa Maria High School was not impacted by the incident, police said, and was not placed on lockdown.
