A subcontractor was killed while performing work in Cayucos Monday.
CAL FIRE says crews were dispatched to the area of Torro Creek Road and Highway 1 in Cayucos around 10:35 a.m. Monday.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office says deputies also arrived to the scene of the fatal industrial accident involving a man.
“The accident involved the directional drilling subcontractor working for the pipeline General Contractor,” according to a post on the Cayucos Sanitary District’s website.
The Cayucos Sanitary District Board of Directors and staff, together with the community of Cayucos, express their deepest condolences to the family and coworkers affected by this unfortunate accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this very difficult time.”
No other information was immediately available.
The sheriff's office says Cal OSHA and coroner detectives are handling the investigation.
