Sunset Drive-in reopens in San Luis Obispo

The Sunset Drive-in in San Luis Obispo opened up for the first time since county shelter-at-home orders started on March 18.

And after nearly two months of closure, the Sunset Drive-in attracted quite a crowd.

People were social distancing and wearing masks; and the drive-in staff even closed off bathrooms to do regular cleanings. But for the most part -- attendees stayed in their vehicles and enjoyed themselves.

"I feel like a kid in a candy story," said Vicki Fluitt, a San Luis Obispo resident. "I feel like it's Christmas morning [...} it's hard being in the house all the time -- and so this is really nice to get out."

On Friday night, Sunset Drive-In movie-goers enjoyed 'Trolls World Tour' and 'The Secret Life of Pets 2."
