Suspect identified in Heritage Ranch stabbing

The suspect in a stabbing case has been identified by the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office.

39-year-old Romen Homero DeLeon of Las Vegas is suspected of getting into a fight and stabbing a 14-year-old boy and a 17-year old boy, both who are relatives of his.

It happened April 1 around 7:30 p.m. on the 4900 block of Buck Tail Lane in Heritage Ranch.

Police say DeLeon was also stabbed during the fight but fled the scene in a car which was later stopped by deputies.

DeLeon was taken to a hospital for his injuries.

None of the injuries suffered were life-threatening.

Upon release from the hospital, DeLeon was arrested for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. He was also charged with willful cruelty to a child.
