San Luis Obispo police are investigating a rash of vehicle vandalism near the downtown area.

On the morning of Saturday, Feb. 15, police say they received a report that the tires of several cars in the area of the 900 block of Johnson Ave. had been punctured.

Officers reportedly found that a total of 16 vehicles had their tires punctured, one motorcycle was pushed over, and one recently-planted city tree had been broken in the area of the 900 block of Johnson, 1300 block of Palm, 800 block of Pepper, and the 1400/1500 blocks of Mill St.

They believe the vandalism occurred between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. that morning.

Police say officers did not locate any evidence or surveillance video in the area that would help with their investigation.

They're asking anyone who has information about this case or who may have witnesses this crime to contact Officer Marissa Womack at (805) 594-8038 and reference SLOPD case #200215015.
