Tonight: City of Grover Beach to discuss deadly stretch of road

The Grover Beach City Council is slated to discuss the safety of North Oak Park Blvd. Monday evening.

Just last month, a man crossing the streetin the 300 block of N. Oak Park was hit and killed by a SUV.

Police say 33-year-old, Justin Dean Truman Kissinger was in an unmarked crosswalk when he was struck Jan. 21.

The night of the deadly collision, the city council was set to discuss the safety of Oak Park Blvd. but because of what happened, council members decided to continue discussion to another meeting.

This week's agenda says staff is again recommending to continue the item.

Meantime, some people are demanding the city make the stretch of road safer following this incident. A recent traffic study revealed there have been 17 traffic collisions on the street in the last year.

Monday night's meeting is at 6 at Grover Beach City Hall located at 154 S. 8th Street.
