Trick-or-treaters fill bags with candy at Allan Hancock College's drive-thru event

Allan Hancock College is helping kids and families celebrate Halloween safely this year.

Children were decked out in their spookiest costumes as they participated in a drive-thru trick-or-treating event from 2 to 4 p.m. at the college's Santa Maria campus.

Families stayed in their cars as volunteers handed out sweet treats to children.

Maya Price, a trick-or-treater dressed up as "Wednesday" from the Addam's Family and said she's excited to spend time with her family tonight.

"We're planning to go to my friend Nina's house to have a Halloween party and all the kids wear costumes and have fun," Price said.

Allan Hancock College volunteers required participants to wear a face mask and observe social distancing while on campus.
