A big rig carrying a large load struck the Vineyard Dr. overpass in Templeton Wednesday afternoon.
It happened at about 4:20 p.m. as the truck was traveling northbound on Highway 101.
The collision caused debris to fall into the lanes of traffic but that debris was quickly cleared.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Caltrans supervisor at the scene determined that the overpass is structurally sound and safe. Crews are expected to start making repairs to the bridge Friday morning and there could be lane closures.
