Two people are behind bars for stealing from Morro Bay businesses in October.

Morro Bay police say officers were called to a business on the Embarcadero on Oct. 18 to investigate a burglary that had happened overnight. Officers determined another business along the Embarcadero had surveillance video of the possible suspects and their vehicle.

Three days later, officers spotted and stopped the suspect vehicle near Front and Beach Streets.

Authorities say Samantha Estes, 51, was behind the wheel and was on active county probation.

Upon searching the car, officers discovered jewelry and equipment that had been stolen from two businesses on the Embarcadero.

Morro Bay police say further investigation lead to the arrest of 40-year-old Shane Willhite.

The stolen property has since been returned to the business owners, according to police.
