Two suspects behind bars after stealing vehicle near Buellton, attempting to flee, CHP says

Santa Barbara County Sheriff deputies responded to reports from CHP on Tuesday afternoon to be on the look out for a stolen vehicle out of Isla Vista.

The report came in at around 12:45 p.m. Deputies say at around 1:37 p.m. a deputy on patrol in the Buellton area received alert that the vehicle was nearby. The vehicle, a white Audi SUV was spotted in the area of Thumbelina Drive and Odense Street.

When deputies arrived two suspects reportedly ran from the vehicle and Jeffery Stolz, 59, of Buellton was quickly detained.

County Air Support, Sheriff's K9 units, and a CHP K9 unit also responded to the incident to help detain the second suspect.

Sean Lynn, 53, of Goleta was taken into custody by Sheriff's Deputies and Sheriff's K9 Duke in the backyard of a home in the 400-blk of Kendale Road.

Deputies say a records check of Lynn revealed an outstanding felony no-bail warrant for a violation of post-release community supervision for assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.

Both suspects were booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail.

Stoltz was booked for possession of drug paraphernalia, destruction of evidence, and vehicle theft with bail set at $25,000.

Lynn was booked for vehicle theft, and the no-bail warrant.
