The United Way of Santa Barbara County and other community donors provided holiday gifts for 53 local children and their families through its Adopt-A-Child gift drive.
Organizers with the United Way teamed up with local schools to find out which students and their families needed extra help during these difficult times.
Each participating child sent a wish list to the United Way, and thanks to donors, everyone received their wishlist items before Christmas.
“This year has been difficult for so many in our community who are struggling to make ends meet. We are so grateful for our community partners that have helped to bring smiles to our holiday gift drive recipient families and bring a small sense of normalcy during these uncertain times,” said Steve Ortiz, President and CEO of UWSBC.
Gifts were distributed on Friday.
