KSBY is teaming up with Vitalant to help patients in need by asking for blood donations during the 15th Annual Be a Hero Blood Drive.
Members of the Central Coast community can contribute to the cause on Wednesday, August 28, when Vitalant will be taking blood donations in a mobile unit at KSBY Studios located at 1772 Calle Joaquin in San Luis Obispo and the Vitalant location in Santa Maria from 2-7 p.m.
Donors will receive a limited-edition KSBY blood drive t-shirt, a coupon for a free pint of ice cream from Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab and a same-day taco plate coupon from Taqueria 805.
According to the Vitalant website, the entire process of donating blood only takes around 45 minutes including paperwork and a brief health exam before the donation begins.
