(KSBY) — 5Cities Homeless Coalition is preparing to open a warming center ahead of a holiday storm in Southern California's forecast this week.

The center, located at Life Point Church at 946 Rockaway Ave. in Grover Beach, could open as early as Tuesday and remain open through the Thanksgiving weekend. The center will operate on nights when the forecast calls for at least a 50 percent chance of rain or to be below 39 degrees.

Volunteers are needed to help the center provide food and shelter for homeless men and women. Shifts include helping to serve dinner, monitoring the center through the nights, and helping guests check in and out.

Anyone interested can email the center at Moisses.Rodriguez@5chc.org or sign up for a shift online here.
