Police investigate stabbing in Arroyo Grande

(UPDATE) 7:52 p.m. -- Arroyo Grande Police Sergeant Tim Ramirez tells KSBY News the suspect fled the scene after the stabbing took place around 6:30 p.m Friday night on the 600 block of Lancaster Drive.

Police are now searching the area for the suspect and the 2004 Acura TL he was driving when he fled.

The police will only say the suspect is a 36-year-old man but have not released his name.

The name of the victim has not been released.

(UPDATE) 7:36 p.m. -- Arroyo Grande Police Sergeant Jason Castillo says there is "no danger to the surrounding community in the area."

The stabbing took place in the 600 block of Lancaster Drive.

(ORIGINAL STORY) 7:15 p.m. -- A crime scene investigation is now underway in Arroyo Grande.

At 6:32 p.m., police and fire were called to Lancaster Drive off of The Pike south of Oak Park Boulevard for a disturbance.

Police tell KSBY News one person was stabbed and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The search is on for the suspect.
