Animal shelters in Santa Barbara county are working together this weekend to host a "Black Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday" event.
All animals six months and older with any black coloring on them — even if it's just a black nose or a tip of the paw — will have all adoption fees waived.
The promotion runs from Friday through Monday and includes these shelters:
- Animal Shelter Assistance Program (asapcats.org)
- Bunnies Urgently Needing Shelter (bunssb.org)
- Santa Barbara County Animal Services (countyofsb.org/phd/animal/)
- Santa Maria Valley Humane Society (smvhs.org)
All shelters are available for appointments during this promotion with the exception of Santa Barbara County Animal Services, where appointments are available on Saturday and Monday only.
All pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and have had a health exam.
Interested adopters are encouraged to view adoptable animals online before calling to schedule a visit at the participating shelters.
“We’re working together to get as many animals out of our community’s shelters and into forever homes as soon as possible this holiday season,” Santa Barbara County Animal Services Community Outreach Coordinator Michelle Maltun said in a statement Wednesday.
