TRAFFIC ALERT: Two-car crash causes fuel spill in rural Santa Maria

The Calfornia Highway Patrol is responding to a two-vehicle crash in rural Santa Maria.

The crash happened just before 5:00 a.m. near the intersection of Brown Road and Ray Road near Betteravia Farms in Santa Maria. According to CHP, one of the vehicles involved had major front end damage.

Santa Barbara County Fire was also called to the scene to respond to a diesel fuel spill as a result of the crash. According to CHP, the fuel tank that ruptured and was leaking diesel fuel into the dirt on the shoulder of the road.
