Santa Maria coffee shop adjusts schedule to continue offering take-out, pickup options

A coffee shop in Santa Maria is adapting during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jovi's Delights Bakery and Coffee Shop has seen a 50 percent drop in sales recently, according to owner Jovi Sepulveda.

Sepulveda says he had to let go of two employees and trim down schedules for the rest of his remaining staff.

He's decided to offer take-out and curbside pick-up in the meantime.

"Just seeing that of course we had to shut down our front area and a lot of people like eating in here for breakfast, it's tough just to see it," Sepulveda said. "It kinda breaks my heart but we have to follow the rules and keep everybody safe, including my employees."

The coffee shop is open from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for meals. They are staying open until 3:30 p.m. for cake orders.

Jovi's Delights Bakery and Coffee Shop is located at 507 E Main St.
