A man was found dead in Maria Ygnacio Creek near Santa Barbara on Saturday.
According to the sheriff’s office, family members called 911 just before noon to report that the man had been swept into the creek.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue and other first responders searched for him for nearly two hours.
At about 1:50 p.m., officials say his body was located near the intersection of San Marcos Road and Via Parva.
The man’s name has not yet been released.
